

I don’t know if that's a good or a bad thing. It influenced countless artists who mixed country music and rock music. I would suggest that everyone should put this on their bucket list.I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Tambourine man, all the Byrds fans, were telling me to listen to this album. The songs don’t have that annoying country twang that annoys me so much. The Bryrds do a great job making country music mixed with their folk rock roots.

Of course it wouldn’t be A Bryrds record without a multitude of covers The album is bookend by their old standby Dylan Covers (You Ain't Going Nowhere” and “Nothing Was Delivered”) Woody Guthrie (“Pretty Boy Floyd”) and a Merle Haggard tune “Life In Prison”) The songs are drenched in country music fingerpicking and steel guitar highlights every track on here. They decided to focus on country music.By mixing country music and folk rock the band reinvigorated themselves Roger Mcguinn was displaced as the creative focal point of the band replaced by Graham Parsons who just joined the band a year earlier. The original idea for the album was to make a record overviewing traditional americana music BlueGrass, Country, Jazz and R&B. This album is a dramatic shift in direction for the band whose previous releases were drenched in psychedelic folk rock. So all you people who hate the fucking Eagles can blame this album. Tambourine was considered to be the first folk rock album this album is considered to be the first country rock album.
